StrollTales ("we," "us," or "our") operates strolltales.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our Service.

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects information such as your email address and profile details you provide.

Content you provide. We process travel photos, trip details, memories, and generated stories you create or save in the Service.

Usage data. We collect basic technical information such as pages visited, features used, browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. We use Google Analytics when configured.

Device and log data. Our hosting provider may log IP addresses, timestamps, and error data for security and reliability.

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
• Authenticate you and manage your account
• Generate AI stories and artwork from your inputs
• Save stories to your library and enable PDF export
• Enforce rate limits and prevent abuse
• Respond to support requests and improve the product
• Comply with legal obligations

To generate stories and illustrations, we send your text and photos to OpenAI. OpenAI processes this data according to their policies and API terms. We do not use your content to train our own models. Review OpenAI's privacy practices at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

• Clerk — account authentication
• Supabase — database for stories and account data
• Uploadthing — CDN storage for AI-generated panel artwork
• OpenAI — AI story and image generation
• Vercel — website hosting
• Google Analytics — usage analytics (if enabled)

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

We retain your account data and saved stories while your account is active. You may delete individual stories from My Stories. If you delete your account through Clerk or contact us, we will delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate security purposes.

Rate-limit and admin logs may be kept for a limited time to prevent abuse.

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, authenticated API access, and server-side storage controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management through Clerk. When Google Analytics is enabled, it may use cookies to collect usage statistics. You can control cookies through your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics via Google's tools.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, including the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer subject to applicable safeguards.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
