Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StrollTales ("we," "us," or "our") at strolltales.com and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

StrollTales is a free web application that helps you turn travel memories and photos into AI-generated stories, including prose essays and illustrated comic, manga, or storybook formats. The Service uses third-party AI providers (including OpenAI) to generate text and images based on your inputs.

We may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with laws in your country.

You sign in through our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You retain ownership of photos, text, and other materials you upload ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, store, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — including sending it to AI providers to generate your stories and artwork.

You represent that you have the right to upload Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone's rights, violate privacy, or break any law. Do not upload content you do not have permission to share.

Stories and images created by the Service are generated by artificial intelligence. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing output before sharing or relying on it.

AI output is not professional travel, legal, medical, or financial advice. We do not guarantee originality of generated content; similar outputs may be produced for other users.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
• Upload illegal, explicit, hateful, or infringing content
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, security, or access controls
• Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload our systems
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
• Use automated tools to abuse free generation at scale

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, including through our admin moderation tools.

StrollTales is currently free to use. We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do, we will update these Terms and provide clear pricing before you are charged.

The StrollTales name, branding, website design, and underlying software are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or code except as needed to use the Service normally.

The Service relies on third parties including Clerk (authentication), Supabase (storage), OpenAI (AI generation), and analytics providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and policies.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (CURRENTLY $0 FOR FREE USERS).

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
